The Afro has arrived!

Inpired by the writings and the spirit of Léopold Senghor, Mansour Ciss and Baruch Gottlieb present, at the Dar'art Biennale 2002,  the 'Afro' a cultural construct designed in the highest media-art tradition to infiltrate mass media consciousness and spur revelatory discussion and contemplations.

What is the economic reality of the former colonies of Africa?

Waht is the value of the money that we use every day?
How is this determined? Who has a say?

The 'liberation' of of the former european colonies of Africa has not liberated their economies, most of which are still handicapped by the continued forced use of colonial currencies.

We do not pretend to be speaking for all of africa in this early stage of the project.  As it is at present, it is meant mostly as an institution-itching aesthetic challenge.  The designs of these bills are derived from  patterns and fabrics of West Africa, Bogolan, Malian weaving, Sene-Gambian traditional architecture.  Your comments and suggestions are most welcome.
